Advanced Diploma in Midwifery


Overview of the Program


Midwifery Program is designed to provide nurses with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills and attitude in the field of maternity nursing.  It is aimed to produce a nurse midwife who is knowledgeable and proficient in maternity care in line with industrial requirements. In addition, this program is aimed to develop a nurse midwife who is able to communicate effectively and demonstrate good leadership qualities within the organisation, with the ability to solve problems in an innovative, creative and ethical way through a sustainable approach, demonstrates entrepreneurial skills and be aware of lifelong learning needs career development.

Program Learning Outcomes


At the end of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Acquire and apply the scientific knowledge of midwifery nursing.
  2. Demonstrate expertise in providing holistic, skilled and safe midwifery nursing.
  3. Identify, formulate and deliver creative, innovative and effective solutions to midwifery nursing problems.
  4. Communicate effectively in the form of writing and conversing between nurses, patients, family members and other healthcare professionals.
  5. Function effectively as an individual or in teams with the ability to become a leader.
  6. Understand and perform ethically the responsibilities of professional and humane, in line with the Nurses’ Code of Conduct.
  7. Recognize the need for and to engage in life-long learning and professional development.
  8. Self motivate and enhance entrepreneurship skills for career development.
  9. Realize and demonstrate effective leadership responsibilities.
