ABOUT PPUMCare Fund

Responding to the need of paying patient especially from low income group for special medical treatment where public funding is limited, UMMC established PPUMCare Fund (Patient Welfare Fund).
PPUMCare Fund are accessible to eligible Malaysian patients regardless of race, religion and background.
Funds are mainly utilized for special drugs, medical devices, implant, medical treatment and maintenance cost for loaned equipment based on robust and transparent assessment and audits.
From 2015 to 2023, PPUMCare has provided assistance to a total of 10,519 needy patients. In 2023, the fund received donations totalling RM3.6 million and disbursed RM7.14 million to treat 1,837 patients.
These funds were mainly from the corporates/foundations/individuals as well as proceeds from charity drives.

PPUM commits to provide the best healthcare and treatment to all the patients that walk into the hospital. However some treatment may require expensive intervention and medication which some patients may not be able to afford.
This is where PPUMCare plays a crucial role in helping patients who are in need of financial assistance.
Since 2011, PPUMCare has provided funding to over 12,000 patients.
