Department of Ophthalmology



The Ophthalmology department in UMMC is a centre of excellence providing tertiary eye care to residents in the Klang Valley. Our busy outpatient department offers specialist services in all ophthalmic subspecialty areas. Surgical services in the form of cataract surgery and various others are also available from the pool of talented ophthalmic surgeons in our faculty. We are also one of the leading training centres for ophthalmology trainees in Malaysia. The formation of University Malaya Eye Research Centre in 2009 has ensured that we are kept abreast in the latest technological advances and treatment options for our patients.
