Hello+@UM is your friendly health app designed by medical professionals at UM for hospitals and medical centres to manage their patients remotely. The objective is two-fold: reduced hospital calls help reduce the strain on medical facilities and personnel, and save time and cost for the patient. It puts healthcare rightfully into the hands of the patient, allowing him the greatest control over his own treatment. The app has a high degree of personalisation built into it to empower the patient to manage his own treatment confidently with support from the medical team just a tap away, completing the brand promise of enabling users to “own their health”. UM’s proposition is to offer a suit of apps for repetitive, non-critical healthcare management that can be DIY’d, covering tuberculosis, renal, geriatric, palliative and primary care. Hello+ takes healthcare to the next level in sustainable digital care medicine by offering a complete solution from medicine taking and delivery, side effects reporting to consultation and progress tracking, and etc.

hello⁺ for TB

Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) is used in the treatment of TB. Patients make daily visits to the hospital to take their medicines from a trained healthcare worker who provides the prescribed TB drugs and watches the patient swallow every dose. Video Observed Therapy (VOT) is a flexible and less invasive option to help ensure TB patients complete their treatment successfully. Hello+ taps into VOT’s promising technology-aided efficiency via a prototype app built in with a complete suit of functions to allow TB patients to complete their treatment remotely in the most flexible and convenient way possible.

Instead of daily hospital visits, the patient uploads a video of him taking his daily medication via the app. The reminder function ensures patient takes his medication diligently without fail, which is key to the success of his treatment. To top up medication, patient simply orders it online and it will be delivered to his doorsteps. Medication side effects are easily reported by ticking off a checklist which is then submitted via the app. The hospital reviews the symptoms and notify the patient of the next move. When doctor consultation is needed, appointments can be booked and confirmed online, for an online call or hospital visit. The treatment tracker and calendar allows patient to manage and track his treatment anywhere, anytime. A game element rewards patient for completing his treatment milestones. The patient’s medical profile is stored in-app for easy access. Other support features making this app smart and intuitive, include notification, newsfeed, and social support among app users.

As its name suggests, Hello+ is the most user friendly medical app that cuts across age groups, gender and tech savviness. UM’s vision is to develop the world’s most relevant medical apps to achieve telemedicine efficiency and effectiveness, and take us into digital age healthcare seamlessly.

Apps for Alzheimer’s Disease  and Palliative Care are works in progress.
