OVERVIEW


Pharmacy Society was established in 1998 as the undergraduates recognized the importance of having a voice to represent pharmacy undergraduates and the need for a platform for undergraduates to be involved in activities beyond daily lecturer schedules. We put in a tremendous effort to build a coherent relationship among pharmacy undergraduates from different academic sessions as we realize that an organization is weak if its members are not united.
 
The society has expanded its horizon to organize large scale projects such as National Gathering of Pharmacy Undergraduates ( NOGAPS) which was held at University of Malaya in October 2001 and the Community Health Fair at Summit USJ in August 2001 in compliment to other yearly projects such as Pharmacy Annual Dinner, Pharmacy Annual Sport, Pharmacy Annual Trip, Pharmacy Orientation Week, Pharmacy Annual Gathering, Pharmacy Gong Xi Raya Party, Pharmacy Career Talk, Pharmacy Health Care Talk, Pharmacy Year Book and Interuniversity Culture Exchange.



 

MISSION


To establish pharmacy society as a recognized and respected student society in the University of Malaya.




OBJECTIVES


  • To be an establishment responsible for pharmacy student welfare and well-being
  • To provide a foundation for the active involvement and participation of pharmacy student in social activities.
  • To be an establishment for the pharmacy students to gain valuable experience and skills that includes organization, communication and leadership.
  • To strengthen the unity amongst students in the true spirit of the Malaysian race and also in the name of the pharmacy profession
  • To provide training to instill and shape professionalism among students.




LOGO DEFINITION


 
Tablet shape

The shape of the logo represents pharmaceutical preparations such as medicine, dosage forms etc.


Serpent

Pharmacy is a part of the caduceus (a medical symbol), which proclaim that we are a part of the medical profession.


Book

It shows our commitment and effort to learn and gain as much knowledge as possible towards being


Gold

It represents the valuable service that we will render in the future.


Red

It represents the bravery in standing up for whatever is right.
