Masters of Engineering (Safety, Health and Environment)
The Occupational and Environmental Health Unit of the Department of Social and Preventive is involved in the delivery of one of the compulsory courses in the Master of Engineering (Safety, Health and Environment). The MEng (SHE) first started in 2006. The programme consist of 36 credits; 30 credits are for course work and six credits are for research. Out of the 30 credits, 18 are for compulsory courses and 12 are for elective courses. Each course is three credits which consists of 14 three hours lecturers.
The staff from the department is involved in coordinating the Occupational and Industrial Health in Engineering course. This course consists of introduction to Occupational and Environmental Health, Occupational Toxicology, Occupational and Environmental Diseases, Health Risk Assessment and Surveillance and Occupational Hygiene, Prevention and Control of related Diseases and Injuries, Occupational Health Laws, Environmental Law and Related Issues. The course is also popular as an elective for other Master of Engineering programmes besides the MEng(SHE).
