Intravenous (IV) Therapy Workshop


Overview of the Workshop

Intravenous therapy workshop is designed to provide nurses, MLTs, Radiographer, Medical Assistant and Research Assistant Officers with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge, skills and attitude in intravenous therapy.  The workshop is made up of didactic and clinical components in order that knowledge connected to concepts and principles of intravenous therapy is conveyed in a thorough manner, providing participants with the detailed management skills and care of patients with intravenous therapy. In addition, this workshop is aimed to develop staffs that are competent and innovative in demonstrating the right technique and skills of cannulation and administering intravenous medications.

Structure of the Workshop

The participants must complete a total of 5 days of theory and practical session in the classroom. The participants are required to practice the skills for three months in their respective clinical area before they could sit for the theory and practical examinations or Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE). For participants who passed their theory and OSCE, they will be awarded with Certificate of Competency in Intravenous Therapy.

 

Blood Taking Workshop


Overview of the Workshop

The Blood Taking (Phlebotomy) Workshop is designed to provide nurses, MLTs, Radiographers, Medical Assistant and Research Assistant Officer with the opportunity to   enhance their knowledge, skills and attitude in blood taking.  It is aimed to produce staffs that are knowledgeable and proficient in the field of blood taking in line with the industrial requirements.

Structure of the Workshop

Participants must complete a total of 5 days of workshop including a practical assessment. At the end of 5 days, participants will be awarded with Certificate of Competency in Blood Taking.

 

Teaching Methodology Workshop


Overview of the Workshop

The Teaching Methodology Workshop is designed to provide staffs with the opportunity to   enhance their knowledge, skills and attitude in teaching.  This workshop was set up to provide staff with micro-teaching skills to improve teaching and practice in their workplace. Theoretical aspects include the teaching and learning process, presentation skills and teaching plan.

Structure of the Workshop

Participants must complete a total of 5 days of the workshop including micro-teaching presentations. At the end of 5 days, participants will be awarded with Certificate in Teaching Methodology.

 

Essentials of Clinical Teaching Workshop


Overview of the Course

The Essentials of Clinical Teaching Course is designed to provide the clinical staffs with the opportunity to   enhance their knowledge, skills and attitude in clinical teaching.  It is aimed to produce a staff that is knowledgeable and proficient in the field of clinical teaching line with the industrial requirements.  Theoretical aspects include the teaching and learning process, presentation skills plan and clinical supervision.

Structure of the Course

Participants must complete a total of 3 days course including presentations of clinical teaching. At the end of 3 days, participants will be awarded with Certificate in Clinical Teaching.
